M anali is famous for a variety of adventure sports like Skiing, Mountaineering, Paragliding, Rafting and Mountain Car Rallies. In  fact Manali was also featured in Time Magazine’s edition, The Best of Asia for Yak Sports.

Manali is a hot favourite with honeymooners. A research shows that about 400 – 500 couples reach Manali everyday for their honeymoon !
Manali is also known for Buddhist Monasteries. The Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa built in 1969, and maintained through donations and sale of carpets, is the most famous monastery in Manali.

The climate is moderately cool during summers which provides a contrast to hot summers in the plains and is also responsible for Manali’s extraordinary tourism figures. Though Manali is cold during winters, a lot of people come during this time to see the Snowfall.

Manali is known for its ancient temples and the most famous is Hadimba Temple which is dedicated to local deity Hadimba, Bhima’s wife.
